Best Google Photos ALTERNATIVES after the end of Google Photos - Tech Harry

Google has a very big platform for storing photos and videos on the cloud. But now, it is going to remove its "unlimited storage for high-quality images and videos". This will happen after 1st June 2021. So, after three months, it will be restricted to use more than 15 GB of cloud storage for storing high-quality images and videos.

The main phenomenon behind this thing is that Google cloud storage is limited but with the increasing number of people, all the costs behind the storage have been paid by Google. But after June 1, everyone has to pay some amount of money after using 15 GB of cloud storage.

It has to be noted that 15 GB of data also consists of your Gmail, Google Drive, and every other Google service. Google first announced this policy back in November 2020 and if you didn't notice then, now you just have left 3 months to decide whether you want to stay on Google Photos or switch to an alternative platform of Google Photos. Many other Google Photos Alternatives costs like nothing for unlimited storage. Let's see first, Google Photos different plans.

Best Google Photos Alternatives at Almost No Cost

Now, you know everything about Google Photos or Google Cloud Storage Plans. I know, these plans are way too expensive for those who earn very little. So, some Google Photos Alternatives will almost cost you nothing for unlimited storage. Let's check which are these Google Photos Alternatives.

1. DigiBoxx

Digiboxx is created in India which gives 20GB free storage capacity with Gmail and other external integrations. It offers 100GB per month storage for only ₹30 which is very cheap whereas Google offers this much storage in ₹130.

On the other hand, you can also get a 100GB yearly plan in ₹360 as well as it offers 2TB cloud storage at the same price. But Google will provide 2TB per year storage at ₹6500 per year. Now, it depends on you what you're going to purchase.

2. Degoo

Degoo is a Sweden-based cloud storage company that provides 256-bit end-to-end encryption which is quite impressive for storing photos and videos. Degoo is also a great alternative to Google Photos. The Degoo company provides up to 100 GB of free storage without any ads.

Degoo also provides an additional 5GB of storage after you sign up for this cloud storage service. This cloud storage company provides 500GB cloud storage at $2.99 per month which is around 210-215.

Degoo also offers huge 10TB cloud storage for the same price Google gives 2TB cloud storage which is $9.99 which is ₹740 in India.

3. Microsoft One Drive

Microsoft One Drive is also a good alternative to Google Photos but expensive than DigiBoxx and Degoo cloud storage services. It offers you 5GB free cloud storage and provides functions to backup data and share it with your friends. Its 100GB storage plan is expensive than DigiBoxx and Degoo but the same as Google Photos.

It provides 100GB cloud storage at around $1.95 per month or 140 per month in India. But there is a benefit for some people. Those people who have Microsoft 360 subscription plan, they don't need to buy any additional storage because Microsoft provides 1TB free cloud storage with Microsoft 360 subscription. So, it is very beneficial for those people who use Microsoft's services.

4. Dropbox

Dropbox is a leading cloud storage service all over the world. It is one of the earliest cloud storage services which was established back in the 2000s. It is one of the best alternatives to Google Photos as it even offers 2GB cloud storage only with a free account.

But if you are not willing to pay any money on cloud storage, Dropbox might not be your will of service because it charges $9.99/month for 2TB storage. As you now know, it provides 2GB free storage only for creating a new account on it. But these days, with increasing image resolutions, and better camera pictures, 2GB is just a number for a few 100 photos. Dropbox also provides an intelligent PDF/Document Scanner. Unfortunately, password syncing and password protection features are only available with Dropbox Pro or Premium account. Free accounts don't get many features with it.

5. Mega

Mega is another great platform for storing photos and videos on the cloud. It is also very affordable even if it provides quite a lot of cloud storage with a free account. Mega is a NewZealand based company that offers up to 20GB free cloud storage only with signing up on the Mega site.

It offers cloud storage for PDFs, Documents, Images, Videos, Music/Songs, Notes, etc. All your data will be secured with end-to-end encryption. You can also share messages, share your files and have audio/video calls with MEGA’s end-to-end encrypted chat. If Dropbox or Google Drive takes $5 per 1Tb then Mega Cloud Storage takes only $1.56 per 1TB cloud storage. That's why it is one of the most affordable cloud storage services in the world.

Verdict

Google Photos are changing their plans for cloud storage services. They're going to charge some money for more than 15 GB of Google One storage. But, as I mentioned above, there are 3 best alternatives to Google Photos or Google One Cloud Service. Among them, DigiBoxx, an Indian company, provides the best and cheapest plans for 100GB and more storage. Whereas Microsoft's One Drive is the most expensive because it costs the same as Google Photos but the difference is that it comes with free 1TB cloud storage with Microsoft's 360 Subscription which is quite impressive.

Some say, Amazon Photos is also a good alternative, but if you see Amazon Photos' plans, you see there is no difference between Google Photos and Amazon Photos. So, I put only DigiBoxx, Degoo, and Microsoft One Drive on my list.
