Oppo Introduces ColorOS 13: Features, Rollout Timeline, and More

Oppo Introduced ColorOS 13

Finally, Oppo has introduced the next version of the operating system called ColorOS 13 globally. Oppo's new skin version is based on Android 13, which recently started rolling out to Pixel devices as a stable update. ColorOS 13 brings a new Aquamorphic design and new features. Look at the details.

ColorOS 13: Features

Primarily, ColorOS 13 introduces a new Aquamorphic design, whose color theme is "inspired by the  color change of light between sunrise and sunset at sea level." The user interface also includes a new system font for better readability,  recognizable icons, and things like map-style layouts. Various Aquamorphic effects are built into the system's animations, user interface, and quantum animation engine.

ColorOS 13 also makes way for a new Dynamic Compute Engine, which aims to improve overall performance. It focuses on two sides: increasing battery life to manage hardware resources, and keeping as many background apps open as possible for more effortless multitasking.

The new update also improves Always On Display (AOD) functionality by including food and music delivery apps including Zomato, Swiggy, Spotify, and more. This is also available on OxygenOS 13, just like ColorOS 13 because they share the same source code.

Always On Display (AOD) functionality

In addition, there is a new AOD photo series called Homeland, which shows the evolution of wildlife homes. These animations are said to be "based on daily temperature changes that will help users pay attention to climate change and the earth we live on." In addition, the AOD refresh rate has been reduced to 1Hz to save up to 30% battery. Features like large folders, shelves, and home screen widgets are also available for easy home screen management.

ColorOS13 multi-screen connectivity

Another useful feature is multi-screen connectivity, which makes it easy to connect  Oppo phones to tablets and phones to PCs. Oppo also introduced  Meeting Assistant, which provides a more stable network during video calls, simplifies banner notifications, and allows users to add  Oppo Notes shortcuts.

There are also various privacy and security features like clearing Android 13 clipboard history, a Nearby Wi-Fi feature to access Wi-Fi without revealing location details, and an Auto Pixelate feature, which will blur people's names and photos in chat screenshots.
