Microsoft Surface Event on October 12 Announced

Microsoft is gearing up for its Surface 2022 event, scheduled for October 12. The event is for the company to showcase new hardware products, most likely Surface Pro 9, Surface Laptop 5, and more. Here's what to expect.

Microsoft Surface 2022 event announced

The next Microsoft Surface event will begin at 10 a.m. ET (7:30 p.m. IST) on October 12. This is also the date that the Microsoft Ignite event will begin. It will continue until October 14. It is expected that this Surface 2022 Event will be an online event whereas Ignite 2022 will be an in-person event.

Microsoft shared an invite with multiple colors (possibly a reference to multiple product color options) and a simple Save Date and asked us to "watch it live to see what's next." While he didn't give any pertinent hints, we expect the next-generation Surface Pro 9 2-in-1 to succeed the Surface Pro 8.

It is expected to come in both Arm and Intel processor variants, possibly Intel's 12th Gen Intel chips and Microsoft's SQ3 based on Arm-based Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processors. It could come with 5G support, up to 1TB SSD storage, and some new enhancements. The Surface Laptop 5 is rumored to have AMD and Intel processor configurations and come with 15-inch screen size. Microsoft is also expected to introduce the Surface Studio 3 all-in-one PC with 12th-generation Intel processors, along with a new Surface Mouse and Surface Pen, as suggested by Windows Central's Zac Bowden.

It remains to be seen how the next Microsoft hardware products will launch. To do that, we'll have to wait for the event on October 12. So keep an eye on this space.
